Title: The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
Author: Douglas Adams
Pages Read: 180 (Read it ALL)
Genre: Sci-Fi, Adventure, Comedy
The Protagonist would probably be Arthur Dent, as the story follows his adventure around the Galaxy. However, he isn't much described more than a Brit who is confused about anything and constantly wants tea. Regardless, lets just say he is the protagonist.
The protagonist reminds me of a person from a British TV show called "The Weakest Link", where he introduced himself as a job-finder agent. That person (Lets call him "Sam") seemed very bored with life's repetitiveness and he appeared to have sleep deprivation. "Sam" was a very common Brit who, as a child, most likely had big dreams that died down with a common University Degree, and then stayed as a simpleton with a wanting for adventure deep down inside his subconscious. This was how Arthur Dent was described, and thus my brain made a connection.
I appreciate how Douglas Adams takes the stereotypical common Brit who wants tea, and turns that into a character who goes around the galaxy using what seems to be a teleporter.
Summary:
After escaping sentient mice who were trying to take Arthur's brain, Arthur, Trillian, Zaphod, and Ford Prefect all run for the Heart of Gold spaceship, and get intercepted by two Space Policemen who want to arrest Zaphod for stealing the Heart of Gold. The Space Policemen suddenly start coughing and can't breath. After the Space Police die, Ford and Zaphod go to the Space Policeman Ship to find Marvin, the depressed robot. They find that the Police died because the Computer sustaining their Life Support committed suicide after talking to Marvin. This is stated on Page 172: "'What happened?' asked Ford. "Well, I talked to him", said Marvin. "He committed suicide."
It's nice what you wrote there but you could of talked about the book
