the Perks of being a Wallflower #5

The Perks Of Being A Wallflower
Stephen Chbosky
Young Adults, Fiction
Finished 213/213

Last week I left off where charlie is telling us about prom which is coming up, Patrick is going with Alice, Sam is going with Craig, Mary-elizabeth is going with her new boyfriend, and his sister is going with some other guy. Charlie is probably going alone. All of charlie's friends are leaving to their colleges and also his sister and he's dreading the day when they have to leave, but it's coming soon though because summer has finally started and school is finished. After the last day of school (for everyone graduating) Charlie and his friends go to the Rocky Horror Picture Show and this time Charlie's sister and her boyfriend go too, everything is going great for charlie because his sister hugged  him twice which is a great surprise for him and the show was especially good this time. It's prom night and everyone is excited but sadly Charlie isn't going, he's too sad about his friends leaving and he thinks he wouldn't fit in too well in prom seeing as he doesn't have anyone to dance with. The next morning he finds out that Sam and Craig broke up because Craig had cheated on her lots of times. The next day Charlie went to school and it was his last day and in the afternoon he went to see the graduating ceremony which went really well and after the ceremony he hangs out with family and then leaves to see his friends. After a week passes by he has to say bye to Sam and everyone goes and as they all start remembering the memories they had with each other they laugh and feel sad and in the end Sam is left with Charlie. Charlie finds out that Sam actually did like him and Charlie and Sam start making out but then sam touches his leg and Charlie stops her, he feels strange. So he apologises and says he has to go but sam tells him to sleep at her house because he looks very sick, that night he has a dream that aunt Helen was doing what Sam was doing to him. he was really confused but the next morning he had to say bye to Sam and Patrick which was sad. He leaves to go back to his house but he is really torn and confused and acting a bit crazy, he drives into the drive way and forgets to turn off his car, then he sits down on the couch and starts thinking about weather the dream was true or just a dream. He starts thinking about a lot of things and he has to stop writing the letter, he says goodbye to the reader and also thanks the reader for listening to his problems.

Then the epilogue starts and we learn that his father found him sitting naked in front of the TV naked but the TV wasn't on, he couldn't snap out of it and he's been in the hospital for two months. The dream he had about his aunt was true and his parents were very very upset when they found out. Charlie also feels really confused because he really liked his aunt and he couldn't believe what she had done to him. he was also happy though because his friends all came to visit him and he's feeling better. I think it's really nice how all his friends love him and also how his parents and siblings love him too. I hope that in the future he makes loads of more friends and that he still keeps in contact with his old friends. The perks of Being a Wallflower is one of my favourite books i love how all the situations in the book can happen in life and I really like how all the characters are different and how the book is written is in letter form. I also really like how the language isn't too sophisticated and it uses word that normal teenagers would use.

"So, if this ends up being my last letter, please believe that things are good with me, and even when they're not, they will be soon enough.
And i will believe the same about you."(page 213)

This is a quote that shows the connection with charlie and me (the reader) it is also the end of the story and he's telling us that it's happy. and things are going well with him. It's a good ending and it makes the story resolved on a good note.
