The Return of the King

J.R.R. Tolkien

Science Fiction

80 pages

This week I was reading the most interesting part of the book for me till now. This was an interesting part for me because there was always something happening wile I was reading the story.  Frodo came to the cave with Sméagol and in the cave a spider attacked him while he was trying to find Sméagol who was hiding somewhere. He was trying to defeat the spider but because the spider was to big and it caught Frodo and then stung him. In that time Sam came and he took a glowing bottle out of his bag and that scared the spider so the spider left Frodo there and then Sam tried to see if he is ok but there was a patrol of Orcs coming by so Sam need it to hide and then at the Sam time the Orcs spotted Frodo’s body and they took him to the tower. From what I read this week I learned that people should never give up which Sam showed after he got in to the fight with Frodo at the beginning of the book. He came back to Frodo even if he was angry at him because he was didn’t believe him and saved his life.

Sam roused himself painfully from the ground. For a moment he wondered where he was, and then all the misery and despair returned to him. He was in the deep dark outside the under-gate of the Orcs' stronghold; its brazen doors were shut. He must have fallen stunned when he hurled himself against them; but how long he had lain there he did not know. Then he had been on fire, desperate and furious; now he was shivering and cold. He crept to the doors and pressed his ears against them.
This passage is special to me because this is how the Book IV starts and I really like it because the words that it uses and also what it is explaining the setting of the story how it is dark and the Orcs going from one village to another killing people.
