Author: Alice Greenway
Genre: Young Adult Fiction: Multicultural
Pages: 96/168 (57%)

Summary: In chapter fifteen
Frankie tell's Kate about being sexually assaulted while Kate delivered the "lychee's". In the rest of the chapters Kate explains to the reader how her mom paints. He mom paints the landscape how it looked like before the Red Guards invaded. She paints before her husband left. She paints the world the way it was before. The way she wants it to look like. They also meet a boy called Humphries. Frankie has a certain liking for him and wants him to like her too. At one point Kate tries to kill her father! But she doesn't tell us why.

Did what you expected to happen last time happen?
.No not at all. I expected a huge conflict to happen but instead we just meet a new character. -.-

What do you expect for your continued reading?
I think that she will explain the story a little more and maybe this time there might be a conflict.

Passage Section:
"I know why. It's because she wants to wash it off, the hands of those men, the smell of raw meat, the blown up stall. Although she doesn't tell our mother this; she doesn't tell her anything. When it's evening, I refuse to bathe in the same water. I wont touch it. "
In this passage Kate talks about the day after Frankie was assaulted and how Frankie really badly want to have a shower because she feel filthy. She was touched by those filthy men. Later on Kate wont have a shower in the same water (they get water to wash themselves rarely so they have to share the water) she wont even touch it.
