Summary

While on the Paw Print island, Toklo thinks of Lusa's bravery when she came all away to deliver him a message from his mother, Oka. Toklo feels that he needs to help her and that he owes her, so he joins Ujurak and tries to find Kallik and Lusa. They pass through all of the miseries as well as Lusa did, but there were two of them, and of course there was Ujurak who could change shape, so they found polar bear gathering place much faster than Lusa. Kallik tries reasoning with Taqqiq, reminding him, how hard it is o be small and frightened cub, and how he used to protect her from any trouble. Lusa, Kallik, Toklo, and Ujurak try to think of the plan for rescuing the little black polar bear, Miki, and they finally made the plan. They wanted to distract the polar bear guards, so Miki can easily run away. They distracted them, and plan worked perfectly, until an evil polar bear started chasing Lusa. Lusa got tired of running, but luckily Toklo and Ujurak came to the rescue. The start fighting, but losing because young polar bears are helping Salik, the bear that tried to kill Lusa. They were almost dead, but they gave their best, but it just couldn't work, until Taqqiq, with a big surprise, jumped in. He defended young grizzlies from his race, polar bears. Taqqiq saves Toklo and Ujurak, and starts arguing about the Miki. He tells them that its not fair to torture black bears because polar bears are stronger, and also that they shouldn't be stealing their food, when ice comes back there will be plenty of fish to eat.

Response Section 

I really liked what I've read this past few weeks. I finished my book, but there is on e blog post left to write about, so I left the ending for the next blog post. I am glad that Kallik finally convinced Taqqiq to love her, so Taqqiq helped her friends. Everything clicked in the right spot, and it really surprised me, in a good way, that Taqqiq changed his opinion of Kallik, and actually helped her . My recent reading has fulfilled my expectations. Changing of characters really fit into the story, and plot went in order, perfectly for the reader to remember everything that happened in the story. At the end of this part of the great journey, I think Taqqiq will join his sister, and her friends to a journey on the Pathway star, where all of things happen for a reason. I am really sanctified of what I read, and I can't wait to see what happens at the end, and in the next part of this series. 

Passage Section  

"Lusa ran down the hill toward the outcrop of rocks where she had hidden and plunged under the thorn branches into the hollow. Miki's eyes wide and scared, gleamed in the dim light. 

"It's okay," she told him breathlessly. "Everything is fine now. You can go home" 

This was the part of the story when Miki escaped and Lusa told her to go home. Also this was the part of the story where Salik, the evil bear started chasing Lusa, and when Toklo and Ujurak helped her. Their strength couldn't be measured with polar bears' strength, so Taqqiq helped them survive.
