Seekers: The Quest Begins - blog #3

Title: The Seekers: The Quest Begins
Author: Erin Hunter
Genre: fantasy
Number of pages read: 154/ 301
For this blog post I read till the end of chapter 14.
Lets start with Toklo. In the morning Oka is still holding her dead son Tobi. Later they bury him and ask the spirits to take care of him. They reach a lake and Toklo sees many bears. One of them introduces himself as Shoteka. He tries to flirt with Oka and then he says that Toklo is too old to travel with her. However, Oka growls at him and then she walks away. Later they talk about Tobi and his spirit and Oka gets mad at Toklo because he knows nothing about death. Toklo then tries to catch some fish but gets swept away by the current. Shoteka tries to drown Toklo by holding him under the water but oka saves her child again. Later Oka tells Toklo  to leave, that they will starve here, and if he has to die, to do it away from her.
After Toklo, the next main character is Kallik. She reaches a land and hopes that she will find Taqqiq. Kallik also sees a tree for first time and is fascinated by it. She then finds a den to sleep. Later the bear sees the Pathway Star. Her mother has told her that if you follow it, it will lead you to a place where it is always frozen. On the next morning she sees two bears, as she was searching for food, but she realizes that they are not following each other but are still going the same way. She thinks they are following the star so she decides to do the same.
The next character is Luca. She wakes up five days after Ashia is taken away by the flat - faces. Later they bring Ashia back and Luca runs to her, telling how she saved some blueberries for her. Ashia tells everyone how she dreamed about forests, rivers and berries. She also saw giraffes and elephants and also large mountain. When King hears that he forbids anyone to speak about the wild.

If I have to be honest some of the things that I predicted will happen actually happened. One thing that I predicted was that Kallik will follow the Pathway Star. One thing that I didn't expect was that Ashia will return. I thought that she will actually die and will never come back.

Passage: "Kallik felt even more alone on land that she had on the ice. It was strange not to have smooth, cold snow beneath her paws. Here she felt heavy and awkward; her paws kept sinking into the ground, and everything smelled wrong."
This passage made me thing ahead for Kallik. Many questions appeared in my brain like: Is Kallik going to find the land where everything is frozen? Is she going to die or not? Is she going to see her family again?
