The Perks of Being a Wallflower #3

The perks Of being Wallflower
Stephen Chbosky
Young adult, fiction
142/213
After New years Charlie apologises for his last letter about him having thoughts of suicide. He also passed out in the snow after the new year's party and this used to happen a lot to him.  He finds out that the night of the party he took LSD and that is why he was hallucinating and he will NEVER do it again. A few days later he puts his life back together and everything seems to be going great for him. He also started seeing a new psychiatrist which is better. his life seems well and the sadie hawking dance is coming up but he gets asked by a girl named Mary-Elizabeth instead of by Sam but he is okay with it. He also gets to be Rocky in the Rocky Horror picture show and Mary- Elizabeth asks him out. He tries to get kissing practice from sam but he fails, he is really upset that he can't get Sam out of his head. We also find out after the Sadie Hawkins dance that charlie's sister is pregenent but she might end up being a single mother because her boyfriend broke up with her after sharing the news, the news brings Charlie and his sister closer and for the first time they don't fight in the car together instead she says "I love you" After a few dates with Mary- Elizabeth he want to break up with her, she talks way too much, so one day while the group plays truth or dare charlie is dared to kiss the prettiest girl in the room and charlie wasn't really thinking and kisses Sam which makes Mary-Elizabeth and sam mad at him and he starts to cry and he feels so bad. All his friends are mad at him.

I think Charlie is different from the others and he is trying to figure out why and how he can fit in more.  He seems a bit sad and angry at himself for doing the things he does but he does't really seem in control of what he does, he just does it without thinking. As i read more i see that he is also experimenting more lke smoking, drugs and alcohol and that could cause problems in the future. I hope that by the end  of the book i see him become better in situations and also know himself better.

"I just wish that God or my parents or Sam or my sister or someone would just tell me what's wrong with me. Just tell me how to be different in a way that makes sense. To make this all go away. And disappear" (part 3, april 26th)

I chose this passage because it shows that he wishes he could be more like everyone else and he wants help from someone to tell him how he can fit in and how he can get rid of these problems that he has. He just wants to be normal but he cant help being different.
