The perks of Being A Wallflower #4

The perks Of Being  a Wallflower
Stephen Chbosky
Young adults fiction
164/213

It starts with Charlie telling us how he's feeling very upset and alone because all his friends are mad at him. He goes to Bob's house to get weed and learns that Brad and Patrick were caught together by Brad's dad and his dad started beating Brad and told patrick to leave. Brad was not allowed to see patrick anymore but when Brad and Patrick saw each other at school and Patrick gets into a fight with Brad and his friends. Charlie beats all of them up and tells brad that if he ever hurts patrick again he will  tell everyone the truth about how he is gay or make him blind. They both get into one month detention. Luckily though now that he defended Patrick, they're friends again and Sam also comes to him and tell him that they can be friends again but he should apologise to Mary- Elizabeth, he apologises to her but it seems that Mar Elizabeth doesn't really even care so that's good. Later on Patrick and Charlie go out, take drugs and get drunk and Patrick was feeling very upset because of how brad was a jerk to him and also because they couldn't be together and Charlie and Patrick just talked and shared stories which ended up with Patrick Kissing charlie, charlie didn't really care though, he knew that it was just because he was feeling sad. They also end up going to a park where men meet each other and charlie gets hit on by an older man, which is pretty funny. The next day he talks about how all his friends are leaving to university in a  month and theres also prom coming up!

I think it's really sad how Brad and patrick can't be together. Brad made me made in this part because he lied about being gay and instead he beat up Patrick, but its really lucky that charlie was there, i'm also happy fro him because now he has his friends back. I really want to see him and sam go to prom together but i don't think thats gonna happen. I'm excited to see what will happen next.

" I drove home listening to some songs we listened to those times when we were infinite. And i pretend they were in the car with me. i even talked out loud."

I really like this quote because it shows that when he is lonely he thinks of his friends and tries to remember memories that make him happy, he pretends that everything is okay and that his friends are with him even though they might not be.
