Living History Week 4

Title: My Life
Author: Earvin Magic Johnson
Genre: Biography
Pages: 364

This week i read about the Johnson's life when he just entered the NBA. He was getting really good at basketball and well known. His only friend that he actually talked to wasn't giving him an break at basketball and just making him become better and better. Now he couldn't guard anyone. His defense was the reason why he wasn't getting more minutes, he was getting less and less. So he turned to his friend and he helped him out. The problem was he was guarding everybody the same, even though they don't play the same. His friend helped him and everything was back to normal until he actually met kareem abdul jabbar. There were 2 seconds left in the game and he scored a game winner. Everybody was happy but Magic just ran over to him and hugged him. Then kareem abdul jabbar answered calming its ok kid this is what i do for a living. He didn't really like me.

Questions:

1.      As I prepare to enter HS, how can I live my own life in a better way to fulfill the life goals I have for myself?
I could actually focus on the things i want to do. Since in high school you start getting choice about which class you want to go to and if you want to go to extended. or not. You should really just choose the subjects that you will really need for your job. The most important thing to do is to remember that everything counts and that one small mistake you make or if you get a really bad grade in one subject, it could decide if you get in the collage of your liking.

2.      What is one MORE unique thing you have discovered about your figure?
The unique thing that i realized about my figure is that he never really had the dream to become a NBA player. He didn't know what he was going to do until late age were for most people it was to late. Most people start training at a really young age and know their dream, were Magic never really though about it and  become one of the best basketball players that ever played the game. Even if it was too late for most people he still got their through deremination.
3.      Describe your figure’s mentors and special trainings?
My figures mentor weren't toleration, his first one was his father which would teach him disciplined and respect for people his father would always come in time of need for his son and help him out and remind him the principles of a human. His second mentor was his basketball coach were even if he really didn't want to play for that school he made it fun and taught him lots of things. When ever he would slack of in practice, his coach would remind him. The last one was his business mentor, which told him that you should always respect other peoples professions and never think that you are better then them.

  1. This blog was all right until I saw "My figures mentor weren't toleration", Which I don't really understand. Methinks you need to go over this post again to spell check some sentences.

  3. I really agree with your first answer. I agree that even one mistake in high school can affect your life in many ways. Including what college you go to, and what job you have later on. Great summary :)
