Living History Steve Jobs: Post 5

There are two famous university dropouts in the technology world, Mark Zuckerberg and Bill Gates. You would never have thought Steve Jobs also dropped out of Uni, well surprise, surprise, he did. He attended quite a few classes but then slowly began to drop out of them, one by one, until only one was left, calligraphy. He stayed in this class for the longest out of all of them. Calligraphy class was what supposedly led to his expertise in design, the way you carefully need to draw each letter requires a lot of attention to detail. He then dropped out of university all together. I'm not implying anything, all I'm saying is the three inventors of the biggest tech companies of today all dropped out of college.

1.      Describe 3 significant contributions that your figure made and the impact of each.

Steve Jobs, mostly had revolutionary ideas about technology and how to simplify it. The two, age old revolutions that he was behind where the graphical user interface (GUI) and the mouse. Now you may be asking yourself what on earth a GUI is and why is it so important if I haven't even heard of it. Well a GUI is what allows you to interact with your computer. To be able to move and click things on a screen. Without it everything would be black screen with green text. I think the mouse is rather self explanatory, but yes he did invent that too. And the third. Which practically reinvented the phone is the iPhone. Which was invented six years ago, it was what layed down the baseline for all that came after it..

2.      What is one MORE unique thing you have discovered about your figure?
When he was kicked out of Apple in the late 80s the first place he went was Italy, where he got the idea for his next company, called NEXT.

3.      What are the different awards and prizes that your figure has been awarded.
I can't find any particular prizes Steve has been awarded.

4.      Describe the death of your figure.
Steve Jobs died of respiratory arrest, which was related to his cancer. Millions posted comments on the Apple Facebook page expressing their gratitude towards this world changer.

  1. I found your post very interesting. It is very nice to know some more about a person we don't know much of and we buy his creatin. I also liked that you explained what GUI means because I wondered to myself what is that, but now I learned one more thing. Great job!

  2. Maybe why they droped out of college is because they were already such geniuses with such great ideas that university would not contribute anything really important to them anymore. Also inventors have to catch the right moment before somebody else thinks of it but while the population is ready for such discoveries/ inventions
