Title: Ship Breaker
Author: Paolo Bacigalupi

Copyright date: 2010
Pages: 323
Genre: Action, Suspense

In the book I am reading, Nailer, is the protagonist. The setting is in the dystopic future, where the world is corrupt and harsh. There is barely an oil left on earth and metal is running low as well. Nailer is on a scavenging crew. He crawls through ducts in oil ships to find copper wiring. Nailer is very brave. I know he is brave because he ran through a storm just to save his drunken dad. Nailer is also persistent. He did not give up when he was swimming to safety in a giant oil pocket. He works hard and does not complain at all.
Nailers goal is to become a free person; to not work on a crew ship for the rest of his life. In order to do this, he needs to get enough money to burn off his working tattoos, only then will he be free. He has a very tough boss. And it is very hard to make quota.
I give this book a very good recommendation. It get’s more intense and exciting as I read on. It will be perfect for those who like drama, action, and/or mystery.
