This book has thrilled me,when i started reading it i could not put the book down.So it took me all day to finish it.The most exciting part for me was when Kino killed a man and then he had to run away.But i was really sad when the dark ones shot Koyotito in his head.The book takes place mostly in a small town and the capital city.This story is about the darkness which is provided by the perl which Kino the fisherman dived out from sea.The story is based on a fisherman named Kino and his family.On the beginning of the story their son Koyotito gets bitten by a scorpion.Kino and his wife Juan desperately go to the doctor but he dose not want to cure their sun because they are poor. When the doctor finds out that they have the perl he cures the baby.Kino gets attacked and defends him self and kills the attacker .They need to run away ,so they go to the capital city to sell the perl and start over .They go by walk in the the desert and get attacked by more hunters(dark ones).Their baby gets shot and it dies,they ran out of food and thy gave up on selling the perl.So they decide to turn back to home.When they arrived they threw the perl back in the see and continued whit their old lives just without Coyotito.
