Sergent Mandella has decided after getting into a fight on earth because of a girl getting attacked by six guys and shootinfg and killing one of them he re joins the army and asked to be assigned because they were told they were allowed to chose were they wanted to go so him and Marygay his girlfriend ask to be assigned to train solider on the moon and just as they're getting ready to go they get a message saying that they will be assigned to fight with the solider as platoon leaders and are forced to go fight in space on there first mission in there new suits Sergent Mandella loses his leg and later on Margay loses her arm in action. What happens is that in his mission he lands and then one of the laser's from his shit shot his leg and makes a hole in the the suit and with the new suits to make sure you don't die from the different air pressure and blow up it seals the fracture and to make sure you don't lose to much blood it cuts of were you're injured and then it heels it and adds more blood and then buts you on a drug so that you don't feel pain. After he wakes up he is in an informatory and then he passes out after he figures it out what has happened and then wakes up later next to Marygay in a cot who has no lower arm and then the doctor comes in and tells them that they reason there not freaking out is because they are on medication that makes them happy so that when they go of they will be in shock after noticing for really that a limb is missing. I think that this book is really good it's all about how humans became greedy and are attacking another race for resource's and are killing them. Then Earth has become crazy and after the war everything has changed and there are a lot of and people are getting killed for no reason and every rich person needs a body guard some parts can be kind of gross if you don't like reading in somewhat good detail people dying and blowing up.
