Title: The Last Song
Author: Nicholas Sparks
Genre: Fiction
Comments: In the pages that I read this week, we found out more about the history and the family of Ronnie's father, Steve. I t is interesting to see how he lived and how it influenced the way he raised Ronnie and how she is today. In the Part of the book where I am now, they are complete opposites. But on the other hand, Ronnie's little brother, Jonah, is very similar to his father.
When Ronnie calls her dad from the police station, he is worried, he does not know that was has happened was not Ronnie's fault at all. At the police station, she denies putting the valuable CDs in her bag but does not want to say who did it. When they arrive back home, she tells Steve that she didn't do anything and she asks him if he believes her. He does.
Jonah and Steve find turtle eggs. That specific type of turtle, is endangered and Ronnie will do anything she can to protect the eggs.
Later on, Ronnie talks to her dad calmly for the first time since she arrived in Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina.
"'Why did you say you believed me?'
In profile, he could see both the young woman she was becoming and the little girl he remembered.
'Because I trust you.'
'Is that why you built the wall to hide the piano?' She looked at him only indirectly. 'When I went inside, it wasn't that hard to miss.'
'Steve shook his head. 'No. that's because I love you.'
Ronnie flashed a brief smile, hesitating before taking a seat beside him. They watched the waves rolling steadily up the shore. High tide would be here son, and the beach was half gone.'
I really like this quote because we see that Ronnie can be soft and gentle id she wants and that her and her father get along sometimes, even though it doesn't happen very often.
"4 1/2 Stars! Readers will be invested in the story from the beginning. That it's never too late to strengthen relationships with loved ones in a central focus, and it's exemplified by comparing life to a song. Another emotional blockbuster!"

I found this quote about the book and I thought it went well with what I read this week. I also fond that the quote relates to 'The Pearl' in a way when they say that you can always strengthen relationships with loved ones and that the author compares life to a song.
