The Great Gilly Hopkins

Title:  The Great Gilly Hopkins
Author:  Katherine Paterson
Genre:  fiction
Pages:  178

This book talks about this 11 years old girl called Gilly, who gets adopted by Mrs. Trotter. This woman has a son and the son is in love with Gilly. But Gilly is not in love with him and she thinks a lot of bad things about him. She says in the story that he is stupid (mentally challenged) and she also thought he was ugly.
Gilly wants to run away from that family because she doesn't like them. So she starts earning money by cleaning Mr.Randolph's house, but she uses that as an excuse to get the money from where he keeps it and she also takes money from other people. One day, Mrs. Trotter told her to go in the street across and go get Mr.Randolph, a blind man, and bring him to have supper whit them.
In fact, everyone treats her in a nice way but that is just her character- she is rude and mean.
