Knife Edge - ORR 5

Title: Knife Edge
Author: Malorie Blackman
Genre: Young Adult Novel
Comments: Since this is the second novel in the Noughts and Crosses Series, and we will be reading the first book, Noughts and Crosses in class, I think that giving a whole summary of the book will also give away the plot of the first book, so I will only give my opinion of the book. The whole Noughts and Crosses book is set in an a alternate world, where instead of Pangaea breaking apart. Without this the African natives (Crosses) hand the upper hand over the inhabitants of the Europe (Noughts) creating segregation between the two "races". This whole idea is really fascinating, it is a lot like other books such as the "Hunger Games", "The Giver" and "Anthem" where there are whole completely alternative worlds. I really liked this book, but it didn't have the same gripping, page-turning effect that the first book had. All in all, Malorie Blackman is a great author.

  1. I've read Naughts and Crosses, is this as good or is it just strange seeing as some main characters are no longer in the story?
