Messi: The Inside Story of the Boy Who Became a Legend

How is the book organized? Explain.

When you start reading the book it might be a bit boring. The beginning of the book tells barely anything about the young Lionel Messi. Everything that I now know from the book about Messi is that where he is born and how proud his mother is now of him. The book starts with the story of Messi today. Where he plays, FC Barcelona, how he plays and how he influences the modern game. Later in the book it starts to talk about Messi's family. I never knew that Messi had three brothers and that they all liked to play soccer. Also I did not know that Messi's cousins lived with him, they had three. The cousins also liked to play soccer and right now all three are playing professional soccer too. They are called Maximiliano, Emanuel and Bruno. I like this book because now the book tells some facts about Messi and stories about him and his cousins and brothers. In the book it also said that his brothers were jealous and therefore they made fun of him, told him that he does not know how to play soccer and they also fouled him every time he got the ball. These are the stories that the book tells.

What is one unique fact (so far) about your chosen human being? Explain.

As I already told you before, at the beginning of the book Messi's family is described a lot. The book also describes the grandmother Celia. The book says that Celia is the one who told the parent that the young Lionel has a lot of talent and that he should play professional. The old women also made Messi's parents buy new soccer shoes for him, so that he could play even better. I find it kind of mean to the other brothers, that Celia says that Lionel is far better than the others. I thank Celia a lot that she did that and made Leo's parents believe in that, so that he can play for my favorite soccer club right now. (Barcelona)

  1. Seems like a pretty decent person. Great pick! I like how you've described the book too, very simple yet with enough information.
