The Last of the Mahicans takes place in 1757, during the French and Indian War, also known as the Seven Years War. During this time France fought against Greta Britain for control over the North American colonies. During the war, the French side allied the Natives and fought against the stronger and more numerous British colonists.
The French general Montcalm has allied himself with several of the Indian tribes native to America and is moving a large army south in an attempt to take Fort William Henry from the British.
While Magua, an Indian scout, intercepts the information about the attack on the fort and reports to the British General Webb, to whom he is loyal. The general decides to send reinforcements to Fort William Henry, in order to help Colonel Munro, who is in charge of the fort. After the reinforcements are sent, Webb sends the Colonels daughters, who demanded to see their father, to the fort. As they leave a Indian runner dashes by them. The runner, who is called Magua, decides to Guide them to Fort William Henry, using a shortcut known only to the natives.
I like how you choose a book that is set in ancient history but still manages to not be boring, you made the book sound very interesting and it makes me want to read it. Im also impressed by the fact that you blogged even though you have chicken Pox.
