This week, i was reading an article in the WIRED Magazine. It was about this man called Dean Potter, who does these insane climbs on mountains with out ropes. Which is called Free Climbing, but he does things that will stun the human eye, like there is this one picture of him upside down and he has no ropes, this is crazy, because if you let go. You plummet to the ground 1500 feet, to the ground.
Dean doesn't just Free Climb, he rope walks and does base jumping.
Dean has been doing all these things for at least 20 years. Dean has his own climbing school in Colorado. Called the wild Climbers. Dean has won tons of medals, like the most risk taking, the wild man and then his favorite witch he has won 5 times in a row, SKY HIGH! Sky high is a competition where a man tries to climb as high as he can on a mountain where ever he wants and then submits it and then they tell him or her is they have won. Dean this year climbed El Captain, in Yosemite. It is a vertical 2,916 feet granite wall. And don't forget he climbed this with out ropes and by him self. A quote of his is, "i give it 199 percent but i thought i was calm and cool."
This article was one of the most interesting thing i have ever read about in my life, i really enjoyed it and learned tons about balance, and self thinning.
It's nice reading an article during the week for a change! I really like your use of pictures- it helps the reader fully understand what the article is about :)

ReplyDeleteThat articles does sound very interesting. And I think that that guy is crazy with doing all of those things that he is doing. I also agree that the pictures really add to your post. It is interesting being able to read and see the pictures as examples of the stupid and crazy stuff he is doing.
