Wolf of the Plains
Conn Iggulden

This book starts off with the journey of five boys who set off to find a sparrow in the harsh mongolian mountains. They do this in order to please there father a brave leader of a mongolian tribe of warriors. The boys are accustomed to a hard and physically demanding life. They set out to reach a cliff where a sparrows nest is located. Then the four oldest ones start climbing the steep and rocky cliff while the youngest one guards the horses. Each of the boys climb and want to bring there father the sparrow. While they climb a storm reaches them and they have to spend the night in the mountains/cliffs without any food one of the Boys even fight with the mother sparrow in order to secure he gets the baby ones.

I find this book very intresting especially how developed the boys are, Physically they're very strong, much stronger than this generation or many previous ones. All the boys ride there horses proffesionally even though the youngest boy is only seven, he can ride and spends the night alone during a storm. The older boys which are 12 years old climb the mountain for hours using there strength.
