Dragon Rider is the story of a boy, a dragon, and a brownie. They are all on a quest to find a new and safe home for all of the dragons in hiding from the humans back home. They are in search for the Rim of Heaven, said to be the home of the dragons, but no one is exactly sure on where the Rim of heaven is, except for the dragons who are there, even is there are dragons there. The journey starts out with just Friedrake, the dragon, and Sorrel, the brownie, but Ben, the boy, joins up with them after helping them get a map from a rat. As they continue on their journey they take a manikin, Twigleg, along with them. At first Twigleg is a spy for Nettlebrand, the golden one, a large dragon-like dragon hunter. He was made to look like a dragon so it would be easier to hunt and kill them. Nettlebrand's creator was also Twigleg's creator. Sorrel did not like Twigleg much and was very suspicious of him. Ben, however, was nice and gave him comfort. Because of Ben's kindness Twigleg decided to betray his master and tried to do everytihng he could do to make sure that his master did not touch Ben. Nettlebreand, however, found out that Twigleg was betraying him and he went on a rampage.
I wonder if Nettlebrand will ever find Firedrake, or the other dragons at the Rim of Heaven?
Eliza, this is a great summary of the book. You added a good amount of detail about the characters in the story. I have read this book and well and i really liked the way you ended you review with a question, "I wonder if Nettlebrand will ever find Firedrake, or the other dragons at the Rim of Heaven?" But one thing i would have added was a little more description of the characters like how they look, what they thin of the dragon.
