As they make their way to the mountain they stop to eat and rest and Ralph thinks about how dirty and scraggly they all look. He yearns to have his hair cut and take a bath  and longing to hold back the wild.

They start off and Jack finds traces of a pig. They decide to hunt it. Jack tries to hunt it and he hits something but they can't find where the animal went. They think it could be  the beast or just a pig.They reach the mountain and the boys argue about whether or not they should wait until morning to scale it. 

Chapter 7 for this book was quite interesting because they find something and they are kind of getting rid of their fears and start getting used to the island completely.
