This is a weird story about boys stained on an island that try to escape by having a fire light at all times one time jack makes a hunting expedition and a boat go's by and the miss maybe there only chance of rescue. There is a big rivalry with Piggy Jack and Ralph how all want to be in-charge Jack later on in the book leaves and makes his own tribe and must of the biguns (the older kids) follow him they are the hunters. Later on in the book the kids say the saw a beastie and that they are scared and that it comes from the trees than later the say they saw it come from the water but during the night a few days later a plane blows up and a man ejects and lands on the island and they see the parachute stuck and the wind moves it witch makes it look like a beast with wings so then they are unable to start there fire in-case the beast would attack them. So Jack and his new tribe go hunting a find a sow that they kill and use the head as a sacrifice to the beast so it will leave them alone. I think it is a weird book and i wouldn't really recommended it to anyone because it is content is so strange it has a confusing way of disguising some parts in short sentence's.
