Paper Towns

Title: Paper Towns
Author: John Green
Genre: Teen Fiction, Romance

I just finished reading the book Paper Towns. The story takes place mainly in a neighborhood in Orlando, Florida. Quentin Jacobsen (Q, for short), your average 16 year old, is thrust into the world of a girl he thought he knew better than any other. Margo Roth Speigelman, is thrust into her own world which is being torn apart bit by bit. One late night on a Friday, Margo creeps into Quentin's house dressed as a ninja. She needs his help on twelve tasks to get back at her previous boyfriend. So, after breaking into Sea-World, illegally flying a helicopter off the roof of Margo's house, and painting Margo's previous boyfriends' house pink, they finally part and head off to sleep. The next day, Margo isn't at school. And the day after that, and the day after that one. Quentin tries to contact her but she never replies. The chase ensues as Quentin and three of his friends try to track down the lost Margo, only hoping that they will ever find her.
Normally this wouldn't be my type of book, but the plot was so thrilling, and Green is a fab author. i read another one of his books, Looking for Alaska, which I couldn't put down all Summer. My favourite part of Paper Towns is a set of different things all leading to the finding of Margo. Quentin just discovers many clues, purposefully left behind, specifically for him. It's sort of sad and confusing at the same time, someone you love and think you know, is actually as mysterious as outer space. My favourite line has to be:
"With the power of the Super-Glue beer sword, I designate you, my driver." This part is where Radar(one of Quentin's friends) is drunk after having chugged an entire keg of beer. This does lead to another clue in finding Margo.
