Luka Luketic

Luka And the Fire of life

Luka is the son of the legendary Rashid Khalifa, his brother is Haroun. Haroun his brother saved the magical world from being destroyed by the evil politician Battoa. Luka travels on a similar adventure exept this time he must save his father from certain doom, he has fallen into permanent sleep and the only way to save his is by bringing the fire of life. This is a fantasy novel with elements of adventure, it is also very philosophical. The author of the book, Salmon Rushdie wrote several controversial stories which caused some individuals to dislike his writing. He was also the target of an assassination because of the book Satanic Tales, which offended some people.
So far this is a great book; it contains very descriptive text which transports you to the world of the book. Another thing I like about it is the way the world is semi imaginary, meaning that it is on Earth but has some fictional elements. My favorite part of the book is when Luka sees a bear named dog and a dog named bear. He later adopts them. This confused me at first but then I got in the habit of figuring out that they are opposite.
