Brave New World

Title: Brave New World
Author: Aldous Huxley
Genre: Science Fiction, Dystopian Fiction

Brave New World Is a book that takes place in the year 2540 AD. The world is very much different to our world today and is meant to be a dystopian future. In this world it is mostly controlled by The World State which controls most of the world. In The World State the people are divided into 5 social classes; the lower classes ('Beta', 'Delta', 'Gamma', 'Epsilon) and the high class, Alpha. The world is a peaceful and resource plentiful place because the world is at a permanent population cap of 2 billion people. This is made sure because people are grown in large hatcheries rather than being born from the womb. Because of this process they are able to modify how people are going to turn out. A good example of this is that Epsilons are administered alcohol  while being incubated. The first few chapters of Brave New World Talk about life in The World State and introduces the first two characters. It introduces Bernard, who is a physiologist and an outcast because of his different views on society, and it introduces Lenina who is a socially accepted and relatively normal woman. I find Brave New World To be very interesting so far and I think that it will have more interesting stuff to come.
