Author: Jennifer Donnelly
Genre: Teen Novel
Summery: Andi Alpers has never had the easiest life growing up in Brooklyn. And shes finally cracked, and is angry at the world. Angry at her father for leaving, upset at her mother for not coping, and angry at the world for taking her brother, Truman.
Andi used to be a great student A's in all classes, and talented musician. But now, as I said, shes cracked. Determined that all Andi needs is a trip to Paris during winter break. Her father forces her to accompany him.
Though Paris was, of course turning out not to be very helpful, the story takes a different route Andi when she finds a centuries-old diary about a girl during the time of the French Revolution. She finds comfort in the words of Alexandrine's story. Alex dreamed of having a role in the Paria theater. However her story also takes a different route after a somewhat fateful encounter with the prince of France.
The story (for me) is only half over, so i wonder what could happen next?
