This book is about a man who got suddenly blind. He was on
his way home and at the traffic jam he got blind. The cars
behind him were already sounding the horn but his car just stayed there. The people ran forward to the blind man's car to see what had happened. The blind man opened the door and shouted: "I am blind!" A man accompanied the poor blind guy home but the blind man did not know that he was a car thief. The car thief offered the blind man to stay with him and wait until his wife comes back from work but the blind man refuses. In the flat the blind man was waiting for his wife. He tried to sit down in the living room but he knocked over a vase at the way there. He bent down to throw the broken pieces of the vase away but he just cut himself. He knew it was hopeless. After an time he fell asleep on his sofa. When he woke up his wife was already at home. They hurried to the next doctor. The man's eyesight was perfect. He never needed glasses and had no problem with his eyes. The doctor told him to come the next day again. The next day the blind man rang the doctor but the doctor was blind too. There was a virus going on. Four more people got affected by the blindness. One of them was the car thief. The government knew that they have to do something so they put all the blind people in a save place were they wouldn't be able to affect other people. The first blind man, the car thief, the doctor, a women, a little boy and the doctor's wife were living in an old hospital which wasn't in use anymore. They had to survive there without seeing anything, except the doctor's wife who did not got affected. She wanted to live with her husband together even when he is blind. Now there were a lot of problems going on in the old hospital. The car thief and the first blind man were fighting all the time because the car thief stole the first blind man's car and the first blind man stole the car thief his eye sight.

This everything happened until side 50. I really like this book because there are so many different things going on at once. It also shows how hard life is when you are blind and how much help you need for this.
