Title: Lord Of The Flies
Author: William Golding
Genre: Fiction, Novel
Pages: 248 (paperback)
Summary : This is a really interesting novel, that talks about how a group of boyys get stranded in the middle of an ocean, on an island. Their plane crashes, andnow they had to survive tough times together. There was hate, anger issues and discrimination, that lead to accidents and other violent scenes. I guess that i'm not supposed to spoil what happens, but just to tell you, this is a really geat book and it teaches kids, teenagers and even adults, about values and consequences.
The main characters are Ralph, Piggy, Jack, and Simon. The first days on the island, the boys spent happily without supervisors, free and independet, but when chaos started to create, lack of food, no ruling and other hazards, the boys try to do elections for a democracy, of who can become the ruler of the island. Ralph was chosen, and that has made Jack really jealous. I guess you can find out what thos will lead to, and I really encourage you to read this book - in class as anovel, or simply out of school.
William Golding is nobel-prize winning author. He is also the author of "The Scorpion God" published in 1971, and a trilogy - To the Ends of the World. He has also published a play entitled - The Brass Butterfly.
