The Seekers: The Quest Begins - blog #1

Title: The Seekers: The Quest Begins
Author: Erin Hunter
Genre: fantasy
Number of pages read: 44/ 301

The book is basically talking about three bears - grizzly, polar, and black. At the beginning the book is talking about each bear specifically and how they are growing. The three bears were separated from their families when they were really small so they have to learn how to survive in the wild.
There are three main characters: Kallik (the polar bear), Luca ( the black bear) and Toklo (the grizzly).
Kallik: She got separated by her brother and was left out because an Orca killed her mother during their way to the land.
Luca: She lives in a zoo with her mother and father. However she has no friends. Luca always asks her father about the wild because he lived there before he was brought to the zoo but he doesn't want to answer any questions on that theme. She thinks the wild is interesting and she wants to go there. Her mother almost got killed but she still survived.
Toklo: He has a brother named Tobi and a mother called Oka. They don't eat that often so when they do so, they go to the river. One day Toklo's brother died while they were near the river and Toklo almost got killed by a male bear. Because of that Oka told Toklo that she has to leave him alone because she doesn't want to see her child dying.
I have to say that I didn't expect that much to happen in 45 pages. What I mean is that I didn't expect those kinds of events in only 4 chapters. I think that the book will be exciting and it will probably be one of the most interesting books that I had read. This book catch my attention from it's beginning and I hope it will continue being interesting. Some things that I am expecting are that Luca will try to escape the zoo and visit the wild.
Passage: "We can't afford to be picky," Oka said, digging through the snow with her giant claws. "Food is scarce enough. You have to eat whatever we can find or you will starve to death." (page 34)
This passage intrigued me because it means that there is going to be something interesting that will happen in the next chapters; I will read how Toklo is starving and trying to survive.
