Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

J.K Rowling

Fiction, Fantasy, Thriller

120/759

This is the seventh and final of the Harry Potter book series. The three main characters in the series are Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley and most importantly Harry potter. The three of them have been best friends for the past six years and they always stuck together no matter what. Hermione is the smart one. Since she was a kid she was always interested in books and knowing spells. There is no spell that she can’t do. In the book, Hermione is referred as “The brightest witch of her age.” Unlike the other characters, she was born as a mud blood. That means that she was born as a muggle with muggle parents (no magic people) , but she was accepted at the school "Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry". Ron is a pure blood which means that his entire family is made up of wizards and witches. He is the funny one of the three. Even in the scariest of situations, Ron has something to say that is irrelevant.  Ron is always there to help Harry and Hermione whenever they need him or a helping hand. Finally, there is Harry Potter, the main protagonist in the series. Harry is known as “the boy who lived”. When he was a baby his parent where killed by Voldemort, a dark wizard. Lord Voldemort also tried killing Harry, but his curse rebounded and he is the only person known to have lived his killing curse. Harry is brave, loyal and he would sacrifice himself for the good of others.  From the start of the book, Harry’s friends had to get him to the Weasley house where he would be safe and where he couldn't be tracked by Voldemort. At this point of my reading, Harry and his two best friends, Hermione and Ron were planning on how they were going to get and destroy the Horcruxes.  The Horcruxes are objects in which a part of the immortality soul of a dark wizard or witch is placed. Their plan is to get all of the seven Horcruxes so that they can destroy them and those witches and wizards wouldn't have an immortal life anymore and they would be easier to defeat. If only they destroyed Voldemort's Horcrux, which is his snake Nagini, Harry, Hermione and Ron would have a bigger chance of killing him once and for all.

Every single sentence in the Harry Potter book is perfectly detailed. The details make the book even more enjoyable.  As I read I try to imagine in my head the picture of what is going on in the book. In other books it could be a challenge, but in the Harry Potter book all the specifics wording makes that rather simple and pleasant. Apart from the details, there is the imagination. It is so fascinating to think how J.K Rowling came up with all of these ideas for the book series. All of the characters and the plot are something like you have never read before.

“What we really need to decide is where we’re going after we leave here. I know you said you wanted to go to Godric’s Hollow first, Harry, and I understand why, but… well… shouldn't we make the Horcruxes our Priority?”
“If we knew where any of the Horcruxes were, I’d agree with you,” said Harry, who did not believe that Hermione really understood his desire to return to Godric’s Hollow. His parents graves were only part of the attraction: He had a strong, though inexplicable, feeling that the place held answers for him. Perhaps it was simply because it was there that he had survived Voldemort’s Killing Curse; now that he was facing the challenge of repeating the feat, Harry was drawn to the place where it had happened, wanting to understand.

In this passage it explains a little bit about Harry and his parents and it also explains what they are planning to do when they start looking for the Horcruxes.

  1. I think that you did a really good job describing the characters and the plot in detail. Also, I think you chose a very interesting passage from the book. Great job :)
