The Help

Author:Kathryn Stockett
Pages: 115/476
Genre: Historical fiction

Every page I read of The Help the more interesting it gets. The more I start to know each character. I learn so many new things about a character in every other word because in the beginning of the book I had no clue who anyone was. I see the bond growing between Aibleen and Miss Skeeter. It is a rare bond because Aibleen is a black maid  and Miss Skeeter is a rich white lady. They are not quite friends but acquaintances. I find it sad in this book to see how little Miss Leefolt cares for her daughter Mae Mobley. I think this passage really shows this, "How come you not in there with your mama?" I ask, but I know why. She rather be setting out here with the help than in there watching her mama look anywhere but at her. She like one a them baby chickens that get http://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=7700559882778182760#editor/target=post;postID=2361166720783811536confused and follow the ducks around instead.". Miss Leefolt only aspects Aibleen to look after Mae it does not cross her mind that Mae's mother could raise her at all.  can not wait to get further into this book.
