This is the prayer with which Pippa and Coriko pray. They realized that their guards, the Spears were preparing for a war and there is a chance all of them are going to be killed. One day, they are commanded to go out and do their work. They obey even though they know it's dangerous, but they don't want to be punished by the Spears. Coriko,Pippa, Tia and Bran decide to take a break and go for a swim. At that moment, they see another army approaching with bows and arrows. The kids realize that they are going to attack them, so they run for shelter. By this time the Spears were already ready for attack with spears. The opponents fire they arrows before Coriko gets into shelter and a arrow hits him in the leg. He blacks out.
When he woke up, neither Pippa or Tia or Bran were there. Only a bunch of dead people. Coriko also `realizes that his arrow was pulled out by someone. In the bunch, Coriko finds an injured boy. He recognizes the boy. He once tried to steal the things he and Pippa dug out. The problem is, the boy does not know Coriko's language. Coriko decides to take the Thief with him. Now. they had to find anyone else alive who they know. The Thief was also looking for his mate, Feelah, who Coriko also knew from before. They enter the place where the room with the chambers is located. They find the chamber room, but there is no one alive in there. The boys decide to take another hall. They never been in this hall before and they always wondered what was in there. They see a door which leads to the outside. They decide to take a peak to see what is going on. It was not a nice sight. They saw a bunch of dead bodies surrounded by dead bodies. But, in the background they see about 400 Spears and much more opponents in a brawl. The boys decide it is not safe, so they continue down the hallway. All of a sudden, they hear voices. They ran the direction from where the noise came from. What they came to was a unlocked door. They open it.
Inside they find hundreds of people. They split and start searching for their dear ones. All of a sudden, Coriko hears a familiar male voice calling him. Bran. Coriko ran toward him and soon all three were in sight. Moments of joy followed. But, all of a sudden Pippa remembered that the Spears are probably going to send the Cleansing, so it clears any enemy who is in the building. They have to escape. At that point Thief called out for Coriko, and showed up. He found Feelah. She was well. They warn everybody in the room that the Cleansing is going to occur and that everyone needs to get out, They do as said. In the moment that they get out of the room, they hear the sound of water coming.
That's where I stopped. I have to admit, this is one of the best books I read in my life.
