Elisabeth of Austria Pages 208 My class and I have started reading our new book project books. My book is called Elizabeth Of Austria and Hungary. The main character is Elizabeth of Bavaria, who was the empress of the Austrian Hungarian monarchy. she was born on the 24 of December 1837 in Munich Bavaria she was the third daughter of Princess Ludovika and Duke Maximillaian Joseph of Bavaria. She was married to Kaiser Franz Josef when she was only 15 while Kaiser Franz Josef had 23 years. She lived until 1898, when she was assassinated by an Italian anarchist Luigi Luchista. Kaiser Franz Joseph lived until 1916. Elizabeth's reign was from 24 April 1854 to 10 September 1898. Although Elisabeth had a limited (but significant) influence on Austro-Hungarian politics, she became one of the favorite empresses of Austria. When coroneted and married to the Austrian king, she got the title of the Empress consort of Austria; Apostolic queen consort of Hungary; Queen consort of Bohemia and Croatia and Slavonia. She had four children with Kaiser Franz Joseph which were Archduchess Sophie Archduchess Gisela Rudolf, Crown Prince of Austria Archduchess Marie-Valerie Since the royal couple had only one son, by the old tradition, he became the ruler of the Austrian Hungarian Monarchy. Getting Back to the book, The book is in a form of a diary, where Elizabeth is the main narrator, as if the book was written from her point of view.
