Private Peaceful Blog Post #2

So far this book had been very interesting. So far, Thomas got into a fight with another kid at school, since Thomas is new to the school. He ends up with a bloody nose, but his heroic brother, Charlie, comes into the fight and saves Thomas from being beat up more. My favorite character is Charlie. Charlie is brave, heroic, and always stand sup for his brother, Thomas. He, Charlie, and Molly become best of friends. But Molly is two years older than him and Charlie is three years older than him. Eventually, Thomas finds himself stuck in school with no friends. Meanwhile at home, Ms. Peaceful (Charlies, Joes, and Thomases mom) are have financial issues. Since Mr.Peaceful died, Ms.Peaceful has a poor job and they are about to lose their house. They are stuck with Grandma Wolf, a mean babysitter, who strikes and beats his mentally retarded brother, Joe. They are so poor they start to fish and hunt for food after school. Eventually, times get better: Grandma Wolf leaves, and Ms.Peaceful gets a better job.

A quotation:

"I have killed my own father" This is Thomas thinking of his fathers death. He believes that he is guilty for his own father's death. Mr.Peaceful died while trying to save Thomas from a falling tree.
