The Wind in the Willows

The Wind in the Willows is a classic children's story about a river rat, a mole, a badger, and an adventurous toad. The four of these ani mals meet one day during beginning of spring and become very good friends. Throughout the book these four friends go on all sorts of adventures together such as; traveling throughout the wild woods, riding around in gypsy caravans, and defeating weasels who take over toads home!
"Toad talked big about all he was going to do in the days to come, while stars grew fuller and larger all around them, and a yellow moon, appearing suddenly and silently from nowhere in particular, came to keep them company and listen to their talk." (Kenneth Grahame, The Wind in the Willows, Ch. 2) This quote i think is exceptionally fitting towards the book because most of the adventures that the animals go on is due to toad. For toad is always taking up a new hobby whether its riding in caravans, racing in motorcars, or doing anything else it usually causes some great adventure.
Though considered a children's book i greatly enjoy The Wind in the Willows and i think that no matter what age it can always be found to be enjoyable.
