ORR #5: The Fault in Our Stars by John Green

Name of Book: The Fault in Our Stars
Author: John Green
Pages Read: 72/313
Genre: Teen Fiction

This book is about a sixteen year old girl, Hazel Lancaster, who was diagnosed with terminal cancer when she was thirteen. She doesn't go to school (because of her diagnose), therefore she doesn't have many friends. Later, when she was sixteen she was diagnosed with clinical depression, which she likes to call another side effect of dying, and she must go to a support group. To her it seems so horrible at first. However, she meets a guy named Augustus Waters, who is diagnosed with osteosarcoma. Hazel also meets a guy named Isaac in the same group who is a friend of Augustus'. Hazel introduces August to her favorite book called An Imperial Affliction, which they later in the book fly to Amsterdam to see the author of this book, and ask him questions they have about the book. All is good, until Augustus' cancer becomes worse, and they have to struggle with many challenges ahead of them.

I really like Hazel's attitude in the book, because it is very teenager like. She is always grumpy and mad at the people around her. She is sarcastic and totally real with the situation that she is in, which is sometimes the kind of person I am. The book is supper funny and sad at the same time, which adds to the quality and whole image of the book. I really wanted to read this book, because it was on a summer reading list on the website of Thacher High School in the United States, and all it has is great reviews so I really had the will to read it and also, sort of know what is being read around the world in high schools, which was also a bonus to this book. I can't wait to read more and find out what happens in the book!
