For the past couple weeks Gale and Katniss have been drifting apart. Due to the hunger games, but mostly the coax of her and peeta being in love. In this weeks reading Katniss and Peeta arrived back home from their trip,visiting all the districts. They attended a big ceremony right when they arrived home. Food was everywhere! During the ceremony Katniss saw something she never should have seen. She had passed by the mayors office and heard a beeping and "emergency". She entered the office and on the mayors flat screen was a video of the district 8 uprising. This was one of the uprising that President snow was talking to her about. She had caused this and now she has to fix it. The uprisings all started when she and peeta put the berries in their mouths. Defying the greatness of the Capital, teasing them. The next couple of days were great for district 12 because that ceremony filled all the districts starving bellies. During those days one sunday came by the one hunting day for Gale and Katniss as a team.
Katniss as usual started out alone. She reached a little abandoned hut where she felt the capital could no longer hear or see her. She had found the hut ages ago. Her and Gale would stay out hunting during the winter and as usual it was cold. So they just sat around the fire they make in the huts. This time things where a bit different. Like I said, Katniss and Gale have been drifting apart. Therefor she wasn't sure he would come. She really needed to tell him something. She waited...and then Gale made a surprising entrance. They hug and eat for a little while, enjoy each others presence. But after a while Katniss told Gale all about what she had done. The uprising faking the engagement to Peeta, well at least the love for him. And then her plan.
"We run away."
Gale looking at her with his blue eyes, no emotion. Then suddenly
"Lets do it!"

I really like this book. However I really feel bad for what Katniess has done. Great overall, I hope you are enjoying the book.
ReplyDeleteOh I love this book so much! Oh its so crazy, I just love the passion between Katnis and Gale but then Peeta and her are just made for each other! This is truly an amazing book!
