Quarter 3 Post 4 ~ Wuthering Heights

Wuthering Heights
Emily Bronte
334/334
Historic fiction/Gothic fiction

A classic novel is a novel that has remained popular for a long period of time after publication. Wuthering Heights was published in 1847, and is still read, and has stayed a novel of significance. In this novel, there are thoroughly unpleasant people who meet terrible ends, and it shows the darkness of a certain time period, and it also shows how we, as people who are supposed to be better than they were, should not act. This novel is not relevant to today's society in the way that, in today's UK (where this novel is set), things like locking a girl in a house and forcing her to marry her cousin. I would recommend this book to a friend (if they are up to reading it, as this book has difficult language) because it has a complex story line and really interesting characters.
