Anne Frank

"Paper has more patience than people." -Anne Frank 1942

Historical Figure: Anne Frank
Books used for research: Anne Frank's Diary edited by Otto Frank (written by Anne Frank herself, and in some places edited herself when she was planning to publish her diary before her death.)
Anne Frank A Hidden Life by Mirjam Pressler

What is a great human path?
The great human path is what leads a human to being great, to being someone who helped humanity. A human is great when they do something great in life, that affects the world, that changes it. A Human Path can also be the kind of "road" that one is supposed to use as a good example. Sometimes there are people who do take the Great Human Path but were not really noticed, so are known as "unsung" heroes, but nevertheless have shown a great example for human humanity.

My human being whom I considered to have led a Great Human Path is Anne Frank. I have two books about her already, her diary which she wrote while in hiding, and another book someone wrote after her death. This way I can find out a lot about her life and after her life, which leads to her fame. Anne Frank lived in Germany during her childhood and moved to Amsterdam when her father found a job, at the age of four. Anne Frank had many friends, but never thought that she had a true friend to whom she could confide everything. Anne Frank received her diary in 1942, on her 13th birthday, in which she immediately began writing, and referred to as her friend, Kitty. When the World War Two broke out, and Hitler gained power, the Franks were fearing that they would be sent to concentration camps. Many Jews were evacuated from their homes, and one day, when Anne Frank's sister Margot was given a call up notice, the Franks immediately went to hiding in the Annex of the building where Otto Frank worked. Separating with the outside life was difficult, and to be cooped up in a small room for couple of years without fresh air must have been even more difficult. Couple of times in her diary, Anne Frank expressed her fear of being discovered, and also being scared that the war would never be over, but she also expressed hope. She often dreamt of her past life, of her friends she played with in the Jewish Lyceum, of the boys she liked and met, and she wrote how much she missed her dear car Moorje. But despite the fact that Anne Frank missed a lot of things during hiding, and fought a lot with her mother and Margot, Anne Frank always found something to do. She was a hard worker, and fond of studying and writing, and never found the time to be bores.  Mirjam Pressler's book talked about what happened after Anne Frank and her family was discovered. The difference between the two books was that at the end of Anne Frank's diary, there were the following words: Anne Frank's diary ends here. In Mirjam Pressler's book, the way it ends with is: Anne Frank's life ends here. This shows, that what happened in the diary is as equally important as what happened after Anne Frank and her whole family was discovered.

  2. I read Anne Frank's diary last year, I thought it was very interesting. I really like that you had so many pictures and actually explained who was on them and gave details about them.
