So far in reading this book i really like the plot. There are two parts to this book and the first part is basically talking about each girls life and showing you all there different personalities. It also introduces the characters Laurie who is the lonely boy next door and who becomes friends with Jo. I thought the first part of the book was kind of boring because nothing really happens. But as i have begone reading the second part i found it so

  • What do you see as the most rewarding aspect of reading this book with me?                                        There were many rewarding aspects.  It was great to re-read a book I enjoyed as a young person and remember how it's messages,  I really enjoyed discussing some of surprises in the novel, and learning that we were surprised about the same things,  It was also fun to talk about the characters and what we thought about them,
  • Are you happy with the choice we made for this classic novel? Why?                                                        Little Women was a great choice.  Many of the struggles of the characters are similar to those we face today - how important family is, learning how to be a good friend, that health and happiness is more important than wealth and that life is an adventure are all exemplified in Little Women.  I also liked that the 4 sisters were very independent considering the era they lived,
  • Is there another book that you would like to read together in the future?  Why would this be a good choice for us?                                                                    We could read Little Men, the sequel to Little Women.  We're already familiar with the March sisters, so it would be easy to follow along,  I also think you'd like some of the Jane Eyre books.
