To Kill A Mockingbird

My Partner hasn't found the book very challenging so far. However, some things that we have both found challenging were the southern words and expressions used quite often during this book, as well as the idoms and phrases. Some foods are also different my mom being southern can help me with some. Such as an Alabama cake called Lane Cake (type of liquor cake.) Also there are words such as shinny which is a type of hard liquor, or a food called Kudzu (pea plant/weed)

The most rewarding thing for me in the book was watching how the charaters grow. Because the book goes through years quickly thus watching how the characters change and start to notice different things and how in this town if something bad happens you just get on with it. You just think of all the positive things. Also scout is noticing many things about people she calls them changlings, people who appear one way but are really another.

My partner likes how author paints characters seems one way on outside and as get to know them start to realize what like on inside. (living in someone else's skin.)
