Twilight

Stephenie Meyer
268 pages of 498 pages
Fantasy+Romance

Quote from the book: “About three things I was absolutely positive. First, Edward was a vampire. Second, there was a part of him- and I didn’t know how dominant it was- that thirsted for my blood. And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him.”
This is the text on the back of the book and I chose it because it describes the book and Bella’s (the main character) situation very well.

What happened until now: Isabella (Bella) Swan moves from Phoenix to Forks, where her father lives because her mother married another man who travels a lot. She wants her mum to go with him and be happy, so she leaves. She goes to a new school and already on the first day a special person seems to be mad at her. She finds out that his name is Edward Cullen, and that he and his four siblings are outsiders, too. They are all inhumanly beautiful and have very pale skin. After Edward saves her from getting killed by a car, they get closer and become friends. Bella, although wants to be more than friends. Even after she finds out that Edward is a vampire…
Slowly, she elicits Edward more and more information about himself and his family- and the scarier the things get she finds out, the more she falls in love with him.

I noticed that many people around me read this book, so I thought I should read it too. I heard a lot of positive things about the book, but also negative ones. I like it more than I thought I would because it’s about vampires (which I really like) and there is also a bit of romance in the book. The book is well written and what I liked about it so far is that you can’t stop reading because the author always announces something else interesting that will happen soon. It never tells you too much, so you need to keep on reading to find out everything. I also really like how the main character is so clumsy and how it seems like she is only searching for new trouble.

Thumbs up HIGH :)
