I have not progressed much in the book Lord of the Rings, however there is a little bit that I can write about. As I have mentioned in my previous blogposts, Lord of the Rings is about a young Hobbit, called Frodo, who goes to find protection because he has a ring, that's the most evil and the most dangerous in the world. If the Dark Lord that everyone fears the most. The ring that Frodo own can make him invisible, but can make him evil as well. His journey to his new home lasted several days, and even when he reached it, he didn't feel safe to stay. He met a merry man who was very friendly, and sang a lot of poems, and apparently seemed very old, yet very lively. He had lived for many man years and had seen many things happen, and had told the hobbits all kind of stories, and gave them warm beds and food until they set on their journey again. What Frodo was scared of the most was the black hooded men that were secretly walking around, apparently searching for him. Frodo heard that these were the secret accomplices that went sniffing for him. They were called the black riders because they were dressed all in black, and went in carts pulled by black horses. When they came to a particular place, they would crawl on the floor and sniff like dogs. They were about the size of a human, and they carried terror with them everywhere they went. Frodo had to do everything to try to avoid these scary creatures that were after them. After Frodo somehow manages to get away from the bad people and with the help of the merry man he met earlier, he continued his journey.

1984

I finished reading the book with my dad and decided to post about it because I'm glad i read it.The book is written in 1934 by George Orwell.He is talking about how in 1984 people will be controlled constantly and wont have a mind of their own.There will be no freethinking because if there is it automatically be braking the rules.The Party and Big Brother are working together and lying to the people.While the standards are going down and getting worse they're telling the people that the standards are higher and getting better.Winston Smith doesn't like Big Brother and Party,he tries to be a free thinker but O'brian tells that to the Tough Police.Winston tough that O'brian is a freethinker as well,but he isn't. Winston on the end is forced to think like everybody else and loved Big Brother.

The book is just amazing.While reading it i realized some thing that I might have never got to realize or not think about it sooner.1984 just opened my eyes.The book was hard to read at first but after a while you get what the writer is trying to apply and you catch up to the events so you get it.You get whats the scenery about and how true it all actually is.The way people are controlled in the book is the same as today.In the book everyone is being watched all the time, today the internet,TV, commercials, advertisements,etc. are controlling us in a way.Facebook has us 'hooked' on it for the whole day.People being 'no lifers' got so critical that we had to think of a way how can we take out computers or laptops and have it open for us to use all the time,anywhere.So what did people do? They tough of mini laptops and than even handier devices soon iPhone's Galaxy's,touch screen and other things came.Now people don't even need their computers or laptops they can do anything on their phones.They can be on Facebook, Skype,Messenger,Instagram,blogger,etc all the time.Not having to go offline.Everything around us these days is controlling us,just like in the book.

Small but evil

George Orwell was writing how will it be in 1984 and he was right.He was a 100% right.The only thing is that no body believed him than and now no body can believe that he was that accurate. I was just amazed with the book.The experience and what you go trough while reading the book is just amazing and i cant describe it.You would just have to read the whole book and experience it your self to understand everything i am talking about.

Percy Jackson

Percy is a "normal" boy who is living in a poor family. He has dyslexia and can't read or learn properly. He always gets in trouble at school and all in all isn't enjoying life. There is more to his life than he realizes and his father will explain that when they meet. The problem is he doesn't even know who his real father is, the step-dad who they are living with right now is disrespectful to his mom and hits her often. Percy must find his purpose in life and hope for the best in his adventure to come.

The Ranger's Apprentice

After finishing Dracula for my book report, I have recently been reading The Ranger's Apprentice: Ruins of Gorlan. The main character in this novel is Will. The setting is in a fictional universe that seem to be a dark medieval fantasy type setting. Will's parents abandoned him at a very young age. Will now lives in an orphanage where they later send the orphans off to a special guild, depending on their talents and skills. Unfortunately, Will has no special hobby or skills and it is about time that the picking day will happen, where the orphans will be picked by different guilds, or no guilds at all. Will is really nervous about the picking day because he knows that he does not have any special skills or talents. When the day comes, he is relieved and surprised that he does indeed get picked by the guild, the Ranger's guild. But what he has heard from stories is that Rangers are dark and mysterious people, even thought as evil to some people. He was worried and curious at the same time about this master ranger that has picked him for the ranger's guild. After he meets the master and starts living there for several days, he does not like him because he makes Will do a lot of random house work such as cleaning dishes and sweeping the floor. Will soon learns about Morgarath, the dark lord who is trying to take over the world. He soon learns that it is his duty to save the world from the dark lord.

I have barely started reading this book (around 11% on the kindle), but so far it has really captured my attention. The author's use of words in order to describe events and settings, really impresses me. The author also makes the character's personalities and traits seem very like like/realistic, making you care about them more. I have found it hard for me to put this book down because the authors use of transitions and cliffhangers makes you want to read and read on.

Hollywood Station

I recently started reading this new book, called Hollywood station and it's the first book of the series. It's about two cops that are bored of their jobs, are both divorced and they hate horses for a  reason that's not  mentioned yet. While they were sitting talking, their walkie talkie rings and they get a call that someone has their music too loud. Thinking that it's nothing important and they go visit and find a dead woman in the bath tub and her friend or boyfriend was full of blood that is probably hers. Now they are trying to investigate what happened that night.

I really like this book but they use very bad language and but the plot is very interesting and has some turns. I would recommend it to people that like Mysteries and Crime Fiction and I give it a thumbs up.

Percy Jackson And The Lightning Thief is the story of a sixth grade boy that learns that he is a demi god. While Percy is on his way to the Half Blood magical camp, he is followed by many monsters and his mother is taken by the monster. While Percy is trying to save his best friend from this monster  hi kills it and faints. He wakes up in a house in camp Half-Blood under the hands of the beautiful Anabeth, daughter of Athena. He also meets hansom and friendly Luke, son of  After a game of Capture the Flag Ender is attacked by a girl from the Heres Cabin that hates him as he didn't fall under her bullying. He then gets attacked by a monster whom was illegally summoned by somebody whom wants Percy's death. After beating that monster Percy falls into the water and his wound magically heal, we then learn that Percy is the son of Poseidon the god of the sea. But Percy's joy to be recognized by his father doesn't last long as he  is told that the gods  think that he is the one whom stoll Zeus' Lightning Bolt. Percy soon enters an incredible quest to find whom stoll the Lightning Bolt. Accompanied by his friends Grover and Anabeth he will encounter many monsters and  will meet his uncle Hades and ak for his mum back. At the end he will understand that he has been tricked and that Luke leaded by Lord Kronos are the real culpable. They want to destroy all god and start a new world. Percy will prove to the gods that he is not culpable and he will get his mother back. Even if his first battle is over, Percy  knows that the real battle is long from being over.

Born on a Blue Day

This is a very interesting book, which I began reading a week or so ago. I am loving it, as it gives a unique insight into an amazing mind. It's written by a man named Daniel Tammet. He has an extremely rare version of autism called Savant syndrome, or Aspergers, This means that he can do amazingly complicated mathematical expressions in his head, almost instantly. He does this by visualizing all of the number. For example one is shining bright light, or the number nine a giant blue number. He also visualizes numbers as textures. He is a very rare person though, because even though he has this form of autism he can still socialize and he is not completely sucked into his own bubble. He does find it hard to make friends, but he does make one, later on. A Pakistani boy. They both share a love for maths and numbers, and they bond very well. Daniel was the child of a factory worker and his wife and ever since an early age, they knew he was different. He would bang his head on the wall and cry frequently. When he was at nursery he would never have any friends. His only friends where numbers. He was obsessed with hoarding. He would have piles of books, coins and conkers in his room, much to his parent's annoyance. When he grew up a bit more, he would sit in his room and read maths workbooks, solving all the problems easily and instantly. Before he made any friends, he would have an elderly woman in his imagination who he could talk to about everything. The main reason why he didn't make any friends was, not because he was strange, or always stared at his feet but a slightly different reason. Whenever he tries to talk to people, he talks about everything he can think about, and doesn't let them speak. If they cut him off, he says that he feels as though he can't breath. This is the post on the first half of the book and I'll finish it over next week and then tell you about it. I only mentioned the most important ideas in this post, because the book is a little hard to follow, and sometimes he talks for ages about one particular thing. If I where to compare this book to another, I would not be able to find a book, but the film "Rain Man", would be one I highly recommend and is about a man, who has a similar story to this one.
