FInal Impact

Final Impact
World War 2.3
John Birmingham
Action/fiction

In this book a army of ships, planes, armor, tanks, weapons, and people have been sent back in time from the future. They have super advanced technology which is beginning to change world war 2, for the worst. Stalin developed the first atomic bomb, enemy leader know haw they are going to die and set out to change their fate, and the Japanese are stealing futuristic technology to upgrade the Zero.

I think this is a very good book. However, it is very dense and the plot is overcomplicated, for example the book is told from the views of many different characters in different places, literally and figuratively. The author also used a lot of a characters past to describe their personality. So even though I think this is a good book, I wouldn't suggest anyone to read this book unless they were suffering from cabin fever.
Title: You Know You Love Me: A Gossip Girl Novel
Author: Cecily von Ziegesar
Genre: Fiction
Like the Book? Buy it Now!I started reading this book because i watch the series: Gossip Girl and thought it would be interesting to read the books to. In this book the main characters are Blair Waldorf and Serena Van der Woodsen. But is told in the perspective of almost five different people every chapter. The main theme is about Blair who lives in the rich part of New York and goes to a expensive boarding school. Her Birthday is coming up and she is planning on having a huge birthday party. But then her mom drops them bomb that she is marring the man she has been dating for a while, who Blair happens to hate. But what is worse  is they are getting married the day of her birthday. She is also trying to get her boyfriend, Nate Archibald to pay more attention to her since he has been drifting away from her.
On the other hand, Serena has just come back from boarding school, since she was kicked out. Blair and her have been best friends since they were in diapers. But after disappearing for so long, Blair is mad at her because apparently the reason she left was because, Nate had cheated on Blair with her. Serena is very sorry and is trying to get Blair back, while trying to stay away from her very obsessive boyfriend Dan Humphrey.
I thought this was a great book and i couldn't stop reading it! I would recommend it to girls who love books that are kinda girly, but very funny. I plan on reading the whole series which is about 10 to 15 books in total.

What Happens on Fox Street

Title: What Happened on Fox Street

Author: Tricia Springstubb

Genre: Fiction

Comments:

During Winter Break, I've been reading an everyday easy-going novel. It's about one unforgettable summer- a summer of alarming letters, mysterious errands, and surprising revelations. Mo, the protagonist, lives on Fox Street with her dad and her little 'wild- child' sister. Fox street is in the middle of the block- just like a heart is in the middle of a person. Fox Street has everything- a piano player, an old lady who puts mice in everyone's mailboxes, if that's her idea of fun, a hair salon where a woman cuts Mo's hair just right, and a cute boy who wants to teach her how to skateboard. Summers are Mo's favorite holidays because one of her best friends comes to stay at her house for a month. However, one of the most unfortunate memories she has on Fox Street is her mother. Her mother died a couple of years ago in a car accident. In the beginning she is mostly sad, but later her friend comes and she's cheered up. Her character changes a lot during the book. A lot of adventure and drama happens in the book- and I recommend it to all readers who like reading about everyday teenage books.

ORR

Title: Theodore Boone
Author: John Grisham
Genre: Fiction

Comments:

This book is very interesting because the protagonist is an fourteen year old boy called Theodore Boone. His nickname is Theo. Theodore's parents are both lawyers and have their own business called p.Boone And Boone. They are both really good lawyers and don't have that much time for Theo. After school Theo always comes to the office and learns how it is to be a lawyer. Therefore he wanted to be a lawyer too when he grew up. Theo knows everything about law and he always watches trials. In the book there is a really big trial going on about a girl called April, who is Theo best friend. April got abducted from a criminal who escaped out of prison. April wrote him almost everyday because it was her uncle but she had never seen him. Therefore the criminal was able to convince April to open the door and then he kidnapped her. Theo is very stressed because the police found the man but not April. The criminal called Jack said that he hid her and nobody will ever find her. Now Theo and his friends want to search for April and risk their life. They search for April in the most dangerous places but they can't find her.

I only read the first 60 pages of the book this week, therefore I still don't know if they are going to find her or not. The book is very exciting. There was also a first part of Theodore Boone. I read that one as well. In the first part a man gets shot on a golf court and Theo finds out the truth. Theo solves that case as well and brings the criminal into prison.

Lord of the Flies

Title: Lord of the Flies
Author: William Golding

This past week we finished chapter 7 in a book called Lord of the Flies. So far I think this book is very suspenseful and full of excitement and rivalry. At the end of Chapter 7 Ralph and Jack sort of see the beast or just the outline. At first I thought it was just a object or the parachuter but know I don't know what to believe. The description is very detailed and specific it feels like you are part of the action. I cant wait to find out what happens in the next chapter but also kinda freaked out because it might do something so unexpected that would throw the whole book off. So far I recommend this book to strong reader because this does have some hard vocab in it.

Ronald

Ronald is a article i read. Its about this guy who lives in London. He was a alcoholic but then him and his father made a bet. It was if Ronald were to do school again from grade 1 even though he is already 20. He would let Ronald have his company. They are making this bet because there is this other guy, who is really stupid and wants to take the company and not let Ronald have any of it.

So Ronald starts school the next day and it really early. But to fast forward through the article. Ronald is up to collage, his last year of collage. He is having suck a hard time because he doesn't know anything and he doesn't really fit in with all the other kids. And there this big kid called bob who keeps bullying him but Ronald take boxing lesson and then knocks the guy out. After knocking him out the story ends.

Lord of the Flies

This week in class we finished reading chapter 7 of Lord of the Flies. I think that this was a great but very disturbing chapter. I found it disturbing because 'as a game' the boys beat on the boy Roger and treat him as though he is a boar. I found this to be horrific because the boys are becoming wild and brutal and seem to have completely lost they're seperation between right and wrong as well as civilized and uncivilized. Watching Ralph go from the 'caring' boy to the hunter was an interesting transformation and you can see how Jack went so far away from 'normal' so quickly.
I found this chapter to be very interesting and i think that there is going to be a great turning point in this next part of the book.
